Brace yourself: We also have a romantic film with Tripti Dimri and Vicky Kaushal.

Merry Christmas

Anand Tiwari’s next has been described as “an eclectic mix of drama, emotions and a dash of comedy”, promoted online with #MereMehboobMereSanam. Formerly slated to release on 24th August in 2023, it was postponed to early 2024 instead. Vicky Kaushal also starred in Tiwari’s debut feature, Love Per Square Foot (2018). The upcoming film is produced by Amazon Prime in association with Dharma Productions and the Leo Media Collective.
Laapataa Ladies

Cast: Atishay Jain Akhil, Shivam Ghawariya and Nitanshi Goel
The second film directed by Kiran Rao, after Dhobi Ghat (2010), is about two young brides who disappear from a train. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, and reviews describe it as a jovial and moving exploration of life and womanhood.
Yodha

Cast: Siddarth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna
This film follows a soldier who rises to the occasion when an aeroplane is hijacked by terrorists. Yodha is directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre — who have previously worked on action films like Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), War (2019) and Pathaan (2023) — and bankrolled by Dharma Productions.

Devara Part 1

This upcoming Telugu action-drama has been described as “an intensive tale about a man who struck fear in the minds of those who were naive to it.” We look forward to seeing Saif Ali Khan play the villain once again, after Omkara (2006), Tanhaji (2020) and Adipurush (2023). Devara is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, with hitmaker Anirudh Ravichander composing the soundtrack.
Mr. and Mrs. Mahi

Zee Studios and Dharma Productions team up for this biopic of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team. The film is helmed by Sharan Sharma, who previously directed Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), which also featured Janhvi Kapoor. It marks the second collaboration between Rao and Kapoor after the 2021 horror-comedy, Roohi.
Tehran

Last seen as the charismatic villain in Pathaan (2023), John Abraham will play the lead role in Arun Gopalan’s geo-political thriller Tehran. The film reportedly draws from real-life events, specifically the Russo-Ukrainian War. It is produced by Maddock Films.
Chandu Champion

Singham Again

Pushpa 2: The Rule

Chaava marks the first time Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna — who is fresh off the box-office success of Animal (2023) — will share screen-space.
Welcome To The Jungle

Untitled Remake of Soorarai Pottru

Sudha Kongara’s 2020 Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, which was inspired by the life of the Air Deccan founder, is to be remade in Hindi, under Abundatia Entertainment. Radhika Madan revealed in an interview that the remake will be different from the original. Suriya, who played the lead role in the Tamil film, is reported to make a cameo in the Hindi remake.

With a budget of Rs. 600 crore, futuristic sets and high-end technology, it is the one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.

Stolen was screened at the BFI London Film Festival in late 2023, and was the sole Indian selection for the Venice Film Festival.

Kantara Legend: Chapter 1

2022’s hit Kannada film will be followed by a prequel that delves into the origins of the Kantara legend. The first look teaser for the film garnered a great deal of excitement from fans. Kantara 2 will be dubbed in seven languages, including Hindi and English.
Indian 2

This upcoming Tamil film is the sequel to the 1996 film Indian — which also starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role — and will continue the story of Senapathy Veerasekaran in his fight against corruption. Indian 2 will tentatively release in the summer of 2024. Indian 3 is being shot simultaneously, and will be released soon after.
